1. Do you have plans for tonight?
We are boring people. We don't stay up until midnight to usher in the new year. I stayed up until midnight last night, but that was an accident. I watched a movie (another PBS mystery), checked on the kids, and then I couldn't sleep.
We usually fall asleep.
However, this year I told the kids they could stay up until midnight...so I probably will too.
2. Do you have resolutions?
I really don't this year. Most of the time I make some. Do you have a list?
3. Do you have your One Little Word?
It's an Ali Edward's thing. A couple of years ago my word was gratitude. And I may go with that one again. It's a good word.
Or peace. That's a good one. In the world...but maybe starting in my house. ha ha.
Gratitude is more realistic with 2 teenagers I think.
Maybe not. :P
4. The Thrift Store was open!
I couldn't believe it. And...on top of that, I saw Tammy T and her pretty girls.
The pickin's were a little sparse, but I did find a few things:
By the way, Christmas is 75% off, white tags and furniture are 50% off. yeehaw.
So my blue chair here was half off. I still paid too much. I'm pretty sure it's just a regular old Ikea chair that looks like it's been through the war. But I like it.
And both Kate & Sam (Tammy's girls) said I should get it. And then Tammy said the magic words..."You'll regret it if you don't. You'll think about it all week." And she was right.
So now I have a blue chair. I think I'm going to use it for pictures.
Notice the Baby Names book.
I do NOT...repeat NOT need that for the obvious reason. I just figured that since I'm on a dictionary page kick, the next time I do a layout on my kids I'm going to tear out their names and what they mean.
I love that puzzle. The pieces are the shape of the state...so I'm going to use them in mini books, I think.
Aren't they cute?
5. Christmas Journal.
For the entry where you could do a page on whatever you want...I did mine on our family Christmas party. Ploeg is half of my maiden name. Lucky girl that I was.
I have to tell you. I love this book. And I can't thank Alissa enough for making encouraging me to do it. :)
6. Random facts for today.
A one ounce milk chocolate bar has 6 mg of caffeine.
(That seems like a lot.) Annnnd...
From the age of thirty, humans gradually begin to shrink in size.
Enjoy your Thursday...happy new year's eve!
