1. my sweet mom is 84 today.
I'm picking her up and taking her to lunch. She doesn't have a computer, so I won't spoil anything by saying...I'm taking her to a Chinese place in Bellingham. A bunch of the family will be waiting there as a surprise. And this year, we chipped in and got her a Coach wallet to go with her purse from last year. :) Can't wait to see her face.
3. It's Thrift Store Wednesday!
Hopefully there will be lots of good stuff today. And I'm getting Harlan back.
We're taking him to Seaside next week. Our pastor/friend is going on a trip to China over Spring Break. I wanted to ask him to take Harlan...but when you have to be careful not to get thrown in jail for Jesus, you probably don't want to worry about taking pictures of a fish.
4. I'm almost 40.
I keep hearing that it's not so bad. I'm not sure.
It seems like every day little things come up that remind me that I'm slowly losing my mind.
Things like this:
Isn't that a cute set of stamps? I thought so. So I bought it.
Then I got home and realized why I liked it so much.
I alread had them. Back to the store they go.
Or the golden mushroom soup phenomenon.
When I make a roast, I use golden mushroom soup (among other stuff) in the gravy. And without fail...I SWEAR I have the soup in the cupboard...but I don't. And since the roast is already in the oven, I have to run to the store for the soup. I hate that.
Yesterday I was looking for a can of something, when I noticed:
I had amassed a 10 can collection! Who does that?!
You can't find this soup at the grocery store I go to in Lynden...so I guess (for the last three months or so)...every time I've gone to Walmart I bought soup.
I am now the crazy soup lady. Check that. The OLD crazy soup lady.
5. Word for the day:
adj: of or relating to, or suggestive of the labors of Sisyphus, specifically: requiring continual and often ineffective effort.
Cleaning my house and keeping current with the laundry is a Sisyphean task.
Enjoy your Wednesday!
