Technically, it's a state park. But it's all the same when you're sleeping on the ground in a tent.
Except I'm not really sleeping on the ground. We have an air mattress.
There were a few scary minutes yesterday when I couldn't find the air mattress...and I almost had to cancel the whole trip. But I found it. And the electric pump to blow it up with.
Whew. Crisis averted.
According to the park's website, there are no raccoons there. Which is good.
Last time we went camping, the raccoons gave us an 5am wake up call rustling through our campsite...mostly because I had left out a bag of hot dog buns...which looked an awful lot like breakfast to them.
There are marmots, coyote, and beavers. And hopefully none of them will be anywhere near my tent at any time.
We did have a raccoon sashay across our deck the other evening. I shooed it out of the yard. They're really not as big a deal when there's more than just a zipper between you, and they're not trying to break into your kitchen to steal your food.
Belle came home from camp safe and sound. I missed her so much!
And when I picked her up, I found out she was "Camper of the Week"...and had won an iPod Touch! Seriously?! Camp is waaaaaay different from the olden days when I went.
If you were lucky you came home with all your clothes, your nametag, and that leather bracelet thingy that always seemed to be the arts and crafts project.
She was SO excited about camp. (and the iPod.) She had a great time.
Special thanks to everyone who makes Camp Shiloh happen!
Photo catch up. Not sure why I'm always doing 3-4 day photo globs at one time. It sort of goes against the whole 'photo-a-day' idea. But whatever.

Got these eggs fresh from our chickens out back.
Or from Grandiflora's cute little plastic eggs in a jar...69 cents each display.

Shelby took this when we picked up Belle from camp. :)
I have rethought taking my laptop on the camping trip. No wifi...no laptop.
I am, however, bringing my Nook. After all, there's no need to live like savages.
One must have Angry Birds and an e-reader. Egads.
Wish us luck...I hope to blog on Thursday! :)
