1. the weekend.
3 days. 3 trips to Seattle. Ugh.
Belle had a soccer tournament. First game was great. She even scored the game-winning goal! :) Next two games...not so great. But as always, so fun to watch her play.
Visited with some lovely ladies at the East Meets West crop (Miss Sandy included) between games in the 90° heat on Saturday. yikes. Sonja got me started on a blanket & now it looks like this...
It is soooooo soft!! Loving how it's turning out, and shhhh...going to bring it to Shelby next month. Nothing like a 31 day countdown for motivation to finish it!
On Sunday Iz, Ian, Belle & I went to a West Point Parents Club picnic...good food, and so fun to visit with other parents going through the same thing. There were parents of older classes there too, so words of wisdom were much appreciated.
Saturday evening we heard from Shelby! They get a phone call a week and a half in...on July 20 (approximate halfway point) and then a week and a half from the end. She sounded really good. Only thing giving her a little trouble was all the memorization. I asked her if she got in trouble, and she said, "Well yeah, but it's ok...they know I'm trying."
She was hoarse from all the cadence calling, but was in good spirits. Has a nice roommate from New Mexico.
She said she wrote, so I'm hoping for a letter today. :)
2. Hovander Park.
I love going to Hovander Park. It's a good reason to go to Ferndale, where there is a Sonic. Where there's Sonic, there's slushies.
We had a Sonic picnic, and the kids even agreed to a few pictures for me. :)
They have a beautiful flower garden there...
They also have a gorgeous dahlia garden. Dad always like to visit that.
Theirs are WAY ahead of mine...I'm just starting to get buds on a few.
Something fun we brought home from R-Day.
Enjoy your Monday...
