Iz and I went on a little getaway last Thursday, Friday & Saturday.
(It was actually work for Iz, but I tagged along...hence the getaway.)
Welcome to the tiniest, most disappointing Target I've ever walked a mile downhill to find.
But the sign is super cool. We need a hi bellingham one!
We stayed at the Fairmont. Look familiar? Remember the tv show Hotel?
They filmed the pilot here.
And while I did not leave my heart in San Francisco (I am so not a big city girl)...
Tony Bennett did indeed celebrate his 90th (I think) birthday there Friday...with a big hoo hah
in front of the hotel. Balloons, music, blue carpet...and a big statue of him in front of the hotel.
I guess he first sang his famous song at the Venetian Room in the hotel.
Neither Iz nor I saw him...but word was, he's a crusty guy.
But he's 90 and still singing. So go, Tony, go!
Ugh, the zoom on my iPhone is crap.
But there's Alcatraz. Fisherman's Wharf was fun...and holy cow, a red hot Pokemon area!
We ate at Bubba Gumps. The atmosphere and movie decor is fun, but the food sucked. :(
The Cheesecake Factory the night before was awesome. Walking uphill back to the hotel
was so unfair afterwards.
The next night we took the trolley back up the hill. Best trolley driver guy ever.
(Not the one in the picture though. He's probably great too, but he wasn't ours.)
Hotel rooftop selfie.
Hotel rooftop fountain. Totally putting one of these on the roof at the new house.
And Iz FINALLY getting his chowdah in a bread bowl at the SF airport.
He was one happy guy.
Lots to catch up on. There's house updates, school starts next week,
and my baby turned 14 yesterday!
