Ok... here goes.
I'll go back to Mom's 91st birthday party. March 31... although there's some confusion as to her actual birthday.
Evidently her birth certificate says March 31, but as a girl she always celebrated on the 30th?
Either way... dinner was yummy.
And yes, my brothers always look like that. All four of them.
Love you guys. You too Mom.
Iz and Ian went out to Iowa for the week of Spring Break. They had a nice visit with Grandpa & Grandma.
It rained a lot...but there were a few nice days where Ian could drive the tractor with Grandpa.
And drive the four-wheeler. And consume mass amounts of food...things like plate-sized pork fritters,
ice cream, etc. Evidently it was epic. The stuff of legends, his bottomless stomach is.
While the boys were living it up in the Hawkeye State...
Belle and I had fun too. After years of being allergic to peanuts, her numbers finally got low enough for a peanut challenge.
This involved a morning at the doctor's office, under careful observation...being fed increasing amounts of peanut butter.
SO funny to watch someone eat peanut butter for the first time in 13 years.
Her face. She thought it was sticky and gross. Ha!
We passed the time watching movies. I think we're singing with Frozen on this one.
After absolutely no reaction whatsoever, she was released with an "I can have peanuts now" note from the Dr.
First stop after that:
Target. She still can't have Snickers... it has a tree nut warning. (She's still highly allergic to TREE nuts.)
But, oh hellllloooooo M&M's! First thing she had.
Cue the music to "A Whole New World"....
Butterfingers are gross. She doesn't like the way they taste. And they stick in your teeth.
Milky Ways are awesome, and pretty much the best thing in the world ever. EVER.
100 Grand bars... the chocolate tastes funny. Nope.
Kit Kats are great.
Twix are weird. What's with the cookie?
SOOOOOO funny to watch her eat something for the first time, that most people have been eating forever.
And she promptly broke out in zits after all the chocolate she consumed.
And me... I was in the Dollar Store one day, when I found these:
I about fell over. I did gasp out loud. The kid next to me thought I was weird because I put all of the
remaining boxes in my cart.
These have not been in production for YEARS.
I busted them open in the car...
and was so disappointed. They're not the same as before. :(
But they'll do, I guess. I'll eat them. For nostalgia's sake, you know.
